What’s the Problem?
If you are having a problem with your vacuum pump which means the pump is running however there is very little or poor vacuum.
On pumps with a filter housing or filters on the inlet, there will be gaskets or seals, if these are damaged or the lid is not secure this will mean the pump doesn’t reach the target vacuum.
How to Fix
Make sure the lid and gasket are in place. Check the inlet filters are clean, blocked filters reduce the pumps ability to move the air (poor flow).
On some pumps there is a mesh inline to prevent foreign bodies getting into the pump. This mesh tends to be on the inlet to the cylinder. To see the condition of the mesh the inlet pipework will need to be removed. If this mesh is blinded this will result in reduced vacuum at the process.
